Using antibacterial gel and face masks have become the main tool for the prevention of Covid-19 infections in Mexico and the world. For now, its use is mandatory in public spaces in different states of the country. Afterwards, its use will be daily, it will be part of the new normal.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), antibacterial gel is a product that can be used to stop the spread of germs as long as the amount of alcohol it concentrates is greater than 70%.
The antibacterial gel in small quantities is very practical, because it can be taken anywhere; When used, up to 99% of bacteria can be eliminated.
Like hand washing, the antibacterial gel should be used so that it covers the entire hand, rub between the fingers and not remove it with towels or paper, so that it can act between 15 and 20 minutes.
On the other hand, the use of face masks prevents the exchange of fluids when sneezing or coughing. This makes it highly recommended for use in public spaces.
One of the most effective masks for breathing are the KN95; they can retain up to 95% of the particles that are in the air.
Others are made of neoprene. Which help to act as a barrier, reducing the passage of body fluids to the outside and reducing the risk of exposure to airborne particles.
There are also the cloth face masks; they are washable and fulfill their function as a public health measure.
Due to their ergonomic shape, both the neoprene and the fabric ones are comfortable and visually aesthetic. That is why they are the most used.
It should be noted that to increase their effectiveness, they should be washed with soap or detergent and preferably with hot water (at least 60 degrees) at least once a day.
Regardless of the type of material that your mask is, here I tell you the correct way to place and dispose of this utensil according to the WHO:
First, you must bear in mind that a mask is completely individual, so under no circumstances should it be shared, whether or not it is infected by any disease.
Before putting on the mask, wash your hands with soap and water, or wash them off with antibacterial gel.
Cover your mouth and nose with the mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and him.
Avoid touching the mask while wearing it; If you do, wash your hands with soap and water, or use antibacterial to disinfect them.
Change masks as soon as they get wet and do not reuse single-use masks.
To remove the mask, do it from behind (do not touch the front of the mask); throw it away immediately in a closed container, if it is disposable. If it isn't, wash it with soap and water.
Remember that washing your hands with soap and water, or deifectatelas constantly, as well as keeping a healthy distance, is the most important thing to prevent infections.
