That is why I recommend these four books by journalist Anabel Hernández, which provide a broad and detailed view of drug trafficking in Mexico from different angles and perspectives, being essential for anyone who wishes to understand the complexity and impact of this phenomenon in the country.

1. Los Señores del Narco / Narcoland - Anabel Hernández

Published in June of this year (2024), Hernández's most recent book analyzes the rumors and evidence that suggest possible collaboration or tolerance towards this cartel during the AMLO administration.

Importance: This book is controversial and critical, offering a perspective on the possible influences and political agreements that may have facilitated the operation of one of the most powerful cartels in Mexico.
